The Joplin Angel Network is a member-based group of investors who have an interest in investing in early stage and growth-focused Joplin area companies. These investments cover a broad range of industries, including technology, where there is potential to build sustainable and successful businesses.

Why we are here

Starting and growing a company often requires external financing. While debt is the most common form of external financing, not all companies can be financed by debt alone. In the past, Joplin-based entrepreneurs seeking capital would pitch their business opportunity to individuals or small groups of investors one at a time. Although the market has functioned this way for many years, this process is inefficient for both parties. Entrepreneurs spend valuable time raising capital in small blocks instead of focusing on their business. Investors receive numerous unqualified requests for funding, may lack the industry knowledge to evaluate certain companies, and miss out on excellent companies that are funded outside their network of contacts. The Joplin Angel Network has been established and designed to bridge the gap between entrepreneurs and investors.

What we do

We provide entrepreneurs seeking financial capital with a direct connection to accredited investors seeking investment opportunities. We do this by providing entrepreneurs with the ability to submit their business plans directly to local accredited investors for their individual consideration. We provide an investment matching service only and provide no advice or recommendations to member angel investors. Applicants and angel investor members are responsible for completing their own due diligence and coming to their own investment conclusions.

The Joplin Angel Network makes no warranties or representations as to whether its members are accredited investors as defined. All entrepreneurs should seek professional advice prior to accepting any investment to ensure that the investment complies with the relevant federal and state security laws.

Privacy Policy

Privacy of Angel Investor Members and Business Opportunity applicants is of utmost concern to the Joplin Angel Network. We will treat any information received with the highest level of respect. The Joplin Angel Network will not sell, share or rent your confidential information to any independent third parties without your prior consent.

For Angel Investor Members — At your request only, we will provide your contact information to any Applicant that you specifically request contact with. Also at your request only, your contact information can be made available to other Angel Investor Members for purposes of discussion or collaboration concerning any Business Opportunity Application that you may review. The Investor Membership list will not be disclosed.

Business Opportunity Applicants — Your Business Opportunity will be sent direct to Angel Investor Members.
